Assessing Aerobic Endurance with 2.4 km Run Cooper Test. Another fitness test that assesses the endurance capacity is 2.4 km run Cooper test. This endurance test is to see our body ability to get the best time reach the distance. The objective of 2.4 km Run Cooper Test is to monitor the development of the athlete's aerobic endurance and nonathletes too.

Required resources
To undertake this test you will require:
  • 400-metre track
  • Stop watch
  • Assistant.

How to conduct the test?

The 2.4 km Run Test 
The 2.4 km run test is conducted as follows:
  • Athlete to complete a 10 minute warm up
  • Athlete to run 2.4 km (6 laps of a 400m track) as fast as possible
  • Assistant to keep athlete informed of the number of laps remaining to complete the test
  • Assistant to record the time taken for the athlete to run 2.4km

Analysis

Analysis of the result is by comparing it with the results of previous tests. It is expected that, with appropriate training between each test, the analysis would indicate an improvement.

Target group
This 2.4 km run test is suitable for active athletes but not for individuals where the test would be contraindicated.

Reliability

Reliability would depend upon how strict the test is conducted and the individual's level of motivation to perform the test.
